A warehouse scanning app for receiving deliveries and stock takes
Warehouse staff usually end up with one of two bad options: no access to the stock system at all, working from a printed pick list or someone else's instructions, or a full login that also opens pricing, customer data and settings they have no reason to see.
What to look for
A scan-only mode that a warehouse worker can use without a full account: their own lightweight identity (not a shared device login everyone uses, which makes it impossible to tell who actually did what), no extra cost per person, and access limited to the one or two screens they actually need.
- Scan-to-receive against purchase orders, including items that turn up but weren't on the original order.
- Scan-to-count for stock takes, without the counter seeing the expected quantity first.
- A record of who scanned what, and when - not just a total.
- No access to pricing, customers, settings or channel credentials.
- Works as an installed app on a shared warehouse phone or someone's own.

Receiving deliveries by scan
Scan or type a barcode to find the right line on a purchase order, enter the quantity received, and build up a delivery before booking it in - the same stock update a delivery received on desktop would produce, with the same supplier and audit context preserved. Items received that weren't on the original order can be added on the spot.
Counting stock takes by scan
Once a stock take has been started on desktop, counting it from a phone works the same way - scan or type to find a line, enter what's physically there. The screen deliberately doesn't show the expected quantity while counting, so the figure reflects what's actually on the shelf rather than what the system thinks should be there. Accepting counted lines and reconciling them into stock stays a desktop decision.
Revoking access
Losing a phone or a staff member leaving doesn't mean starting over: the shared link can be regenerated at any time, which immediately signs out everyone using the old one, and an individual person's access can be switched off without affecting anyone else.
