How inventory systems calculate bundle availability
A bundle - a gift set, a multi-pack, a "buy these three together" listing - isn't really its own stock item. It's a recipe: some quantity of each of several components.
The basic calculation
If a bundle needs 2 of component A and 1 of component B, the number of bundles sellable is the smaller of (component A's stock ÷ 2) and (component B's stock). Whichever component runs out first caps the bundle's availability.
Why tracking bundle stock separately goes wrong
If a bundle has its own independently-tracked stock figure instead of being derived from its components, selling a component individually (outside the bundle) won't reduce the bundle's availability - so the bundle keeps showing as sellable after the components it depends on have actually run out.
